India is continuing to report a downward trend of new Covid-19 cases. In the last 24 hours, 42,640 new infections have been reported and this is the lowest in 91 days. After three long months, the cases reported are below 50,000.
The active cases count has fallen below 7 Lakh and currently stands at 6,62,521. 1167 people have succumbed to the virus and total death tally is 3,89,302.
Meanwhile the vaccination has picked up across the country. From Monday, the Centre has launched free vaccination for 18 years above and on the first day a staggering 86,16,373 people received the vaccine shot. This is a record since vaccination has been initiated in the country.
The total number of vaccines administered so far stands at 28,87,66,201. This number will certainly go up in the coming days. Vaccines would intensely pick up in July and August months.
