Andhra Reports First Delta Plus Case

Two days back India reported 40 cases of mutation of the Delta strain or B.1.617.2 variant of the Covid-19. The Union Health Ministry has alerted Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu states and added that this variant may spread super-fast compared to other variants.

But in a shocking detail, Andhra reported the first Delta Plus case and it came out quite late. Confirming the same Andhra health minister Alla Nani said, “This Delta Plus case was reported in Tirupati a few days back. The patient recovered and got discharged. Post this Andhra did not report any such cases.”

The minister added that AP is also on high alert on Black Fungus and Delta Plus cases and appropriate measures are being taken to deal with any unwanted incidents. Minister Nani further said the government is ready to tackle the ‘Third Wave.’

Meanwhile AP has reported 4458 new infections and 38 people have died in the last 24 hours.
