AP Govt’s Green Signal To Reopen Theatres

Coronavirus cases declined drastically over the last fifteen days. Many states in the country already eased the lockdown rules. Now, Andhra Pradesh also decided to further relax the COVID-19 curfew. The government decided to implement the curfew from 6 AM to 7 PM in the East Godavari and West Godavari districts.

In all the other districts of the state, the government decided to implement only a night curfew from 10 PM to 6 AM. The positivity rate continues to be over 5 percent in the East and West districts while the same witnessed a downfall in other districts.

Dine-in restaurants, gymnasiums, and marriage halls will reopen from July 8 with half capacity. The government has given permission for cinema halls with 50 percent occupancy.

The revised curfew hours will come into force from July 8th. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy chaired a high-level meeting with the officials to review the situation of the pandemic in the state on Monday. The chief minister further directed all the officials to ensure strict guidelines are in place to contain the spread of the virus.

The government of Andhra Pradesh announced a curfew in the state on May 5th.
