KCR, What Happened At Roja’s Royyala Treat?: Bandi

Amidst the rift between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh over river water-sharing and with both the CMs making counter statements, the politics on either side has heated up. Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay has attacked CM KCR and blamed him for the water dispute.

Bandi asked why did KCR and erstwhile Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and then Irrigation Advisor Vidyasagar Rao had agreed for meager 299 TMC water and signed an agreement with then AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and then AP Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma for the same.

Sanjay said that KCR himself is responsible for the injustice meted out to Telangana in the first place. Sanjay showed the documents of agreement with KCR and Harish Rao’s signatures along with Chandrababu and Devineni Uma’s signatures at the press briefing.

Bandi Sanjay shared an anecdote about Roja’s special Dhawat (treat) to CM KCR when the latter had visited Nagiri. Sanjay alleged that KCR and Jagan had a secret pact during Roja’s Royyala treat. He asked KCR what had happened at Roja’s place and asked him to reveal it to the people of Telangana.

Sanjay said that Roja knows what exactly happened and she is the right person to reveal the inside details of the secret meeting. What was the purpose of KCR visiting Nagiri and making statements like he would make Rayalaseema as Ratnalaseema? Is losing Telangana water to Rayalaseema what he meant by making Rayalaseema as Ratnalaseema?

Sanjay went on to ridicule KCR that he might not be sober then and might have signed any documents. Sajnay pointed out that later in 2020, then Telangana Chief Secretary Rajat Kumar had written to Union Jalshakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat that Telangana’s due share of water is 575 TMC. Why is that CM KCR had signed for 299 TMC and why is that the Chief Secretary had disputed it? Why was there a difference between the statements of KCR and Rajat Kumar? Sanjay said that even he had raised objections to the agreement with AP back then, but neither KCR nor the TRS government had responded to his objections then.

Bandi alleged that Telangana CM and Andhra CM are provoking the people on either side purposefully for their respective political gains. He alleged that KCR is doing this willfully to invoke the Telangana sentiment among the people for his party’s survival. On the whole, Bandi has breathed fire at KCR on the water dispute row.
