Even before getting appointed as Telangana PCC chief Revanth Reddy made attempts to get leaders into Congress fold. Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Etala Rajender and Telangana Jana Samithi leader Professor Kodandaram were among them.
After Revanth’s appointment as T-PCC chief, there was strong buzz that Professor Kodandaram would be merging his party with Congress. However, neither Revanth nor Kodandaram reacted to these rumours.
On Sunday Professor Kodandaram held a press meet and reacted to these rumours. Condemning the reports, Kodandaram said, “It’s the ruling party which is doing this false campaign on social media against our party.” Clarifying that Telangana Jana Samithi will be working at the behest of supreme sacrifices of Telangana martyrs, Kodandaram said, “TJS will not indulge in filthy politics of selling and buying.”
The Professor turned politician added that TJS is identifying its loopholes and would want to correct them. “In August we would be holding Plenary Meetings and before that the party will appoint incharges for all the Assembly constituencies and will form committees on issues. From here Telangana Jana Samithi will contest every election,” said Kodandaram.
Criticising KCR and his TRS government the Professor further stated, “CM and his family members are amassing huge wealth. This monarchy rule should end come what may.”
So with Kodandaram clarifying, the rumour of TJS merger with Congress settles. Now we have to see how Kodandaram strengthens his party in the state to counter the TRS government.
