End of an Era: Britannia Shuts Down Historic Kolkata Factory

Britannia Industries Limited is closing its 77-year-old factory in Kolkata’s Taratala, marking the end of an era for the iconic biscuit brand. Established in 1947, the plant was a key part of Kolkata’s manufacturing scene. All employees have reportedly opted for the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS).
