India Ranks Third Globally for Unvaccinated Measles Children

India has the third-highest number of children not vaccinated against measles, with over 16 lakh unvaccinated kids in 2023. This places India behind only Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in terms of measles vaccination coverage gaps. Improving childhood immunization remains a key public health priority for India.
