Billionaire’s Son Rejected ₹40,000 Cr, Becomes Monk

Ajahn Siripanyo, the son of telecom magnate Ananda Krishnan, renounced a ₹40,000 crore inheritance to become a Buddhist monk at age 18. Krishnan, who owned the IPL team Chennai Super Kings, is one of Malaysia’s wealthiest individuals. Siripanyo now serves as the abbot of a monastery in Thailand, choosing spirituality over his family’s vast fortune.
