273 Seats for Women in 816-Member Lok Sabha?

The Centre is considering increasing the strength of the Lok Sabha from 543 to 816 seats based on the 2011 Census to implement women’s reservation. If approved, about 273 seats could be reserved for women. The proposal may also extend to state legislative assemblies, reserving one-third of seats for women after the delimitation exercise.
