OpenAI Shuts Down Sora AI Video App, Ends Disney Deal

ChatGPT maker OpenAI has decided to shut down its AI video-generation platform Sora and discontinue its related app and developer tools. The move also ends its collaboration with The Walt Disney Company. Sora, launched in 2024, allowed users to create realistic videos from text prompts. OpenAI says it will now focus on robotics, enterprise AI tools, and long-term artificial intelligence development.
