SC Orders CBI/NIA Probe Over Attack on Judges

The Supreme Court of India sharply criticised West Bengal officials after several judges were gheraoed while performing election-related duties in Malda. Calling it a serious failure of law and order, the court ordered deployment of central forces for protection. It also directed that the incident be investigated by either the Central Bureau of Investigation or the National Investigation Agency.
