Pramila Dandavate, a former MP from Mumbai was the first to demand 33% Reservation for Women. In the early 1980s, during the 7th Lok Sabha, she introduced this bill for the first time as a Private Member’s Bill. In 1989, during the tenure of the VP Singh, she was the first to demand a 33 percent reservation for women.
