The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has directed apps like Truecaller to stop displaying spam labels on 140 series telemarketing numbers and 1600 series banking numbers. TRAI said these are official business numbers and many genuine calls were being wrongly marked as spam due to user reports. The move aims to ensure legitimate business and banking calls reach consumers.
