Amazon Fined Rs 1 Lakh Over Fake Ayodhya Prasad Claim

Amazon has been fined Rs 1 lakh by the Central Consumer Protection Authority for allowing ordinary sweets to be sold online as ‘Shri Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad’. The CCPA said Amazon cannot escape responsibility by calling itself merely an intermediary. The sweets were allegedly marketed without authenticated permission from the temple trust.
