Indonesia’s Mount Anak Krakatau erupted, sending volcanic ash into the skies and forcing the temporary suspension of operations at Jakarta’s Soekarno Hatta International Airport. The disruption affected 209 flights and more than 22,000 passengers. Authorities also suspended some school and fishing activities as ash spread across parts of Java and Sumatra.
