United Nations’ First Reaction To Mass Detention In Delhi

The United Nations has expressed concern over reports of mass detentions during large scale demonstrations in Delhi. The detentions reportedly involved protesters, protest leaders, civil society members, lawyers and journalists. The UN urged Indian authorities to ensure that the right to peaceful assembly is fully respected and protected.
