IBM Techie Dies Minutes After Completing Hyderabad Marathon

A 36-year-old software engineer died of a suspected heart attack shortly after completing a marathon in Hyderabad. The shocking incident took place on Sunday morning at Gachibowli Stadium.

The deceased, Kommineni Gopi, was a resident of Alkapur Colony in Manikonda and worked as a software engineer at IBM.

Gopi participated in a marathon organised by NEB. He successfully completed the run and collected his finisher’s medal. However, while heading for breakfast after the event, he suddenly collapsed.

The organisers rushed him to CARE Hospital, but doctors declared him dead. The incident reportedly happened within minutes of him completing the run.

Gopi’s sudden death has left fellow runners and his family in shock. The incident has also raised concerns about health checks and emergency medical support during marathon events.
