Rat Droppings, Expired Meat, Cockroaches: The Sad State Of Hyderabad Food!

Hyderabad is one of the culturally rich and Heritage cities in India, and it is historically famous for having a very strong culinary tradition. But the kind of activities that have been happening in the recent past, with regard to the food saftey in Hyderabad have been devastating in nature.

The Revanth Reddy government has started to crack down on the eateries across Hyderabad city as they’ve been raiding hotels with questionable food safety standards.

Despite the best efforts of the concerned authorities and relevant teams that have been repeatedly patrolling the city to discipline these food stalls, there’s still a lot of correction to be done by these restaurants.

Just yesterday, food inspection officials suspended the FSSAI licences of 14 restaurants and issued show-cause notices to eight others following a major food safety crackdown across Hyderabad.

A total of 22 restaurants and food establishments were inspected by 22 enforcement teams comprising Food Safety Officers and police personnel. Shockingly or 22 of these establishments had poor food safety standards.

Inspections revealed serious violations, including unhygienic kitchens, cockroach and housefly infestations, rat droppings, rotten vegetables, expired food, fungal contamination, improper storage of meat and repeated use of cooking oil.

For a city that is so richly regarded for its beautiful culinary treats, Hyderabad image is getting absolutely ruined by these incompetent food places which have been disregarding public safety.
