In a shocking development of sorts, Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has parted ways with his wife Ayesha Mukerji after 8 years of marriage.
Ayesha took it to Instagram to confirm that the pair has severed ties. “I THOUGHT DIVORCE WAS A DIRTY WORD UNTIL I BECAME A 2 TIME DIVORCEE. Funny how words can have such powerful meanings and associations,” a part of Ayesha’s social media post read.
Dhawan and Aesha got married back in October 2012. Dhawan then adopted Aesha’s two kids from her previous marriage. The couple then had a kid together, Zoravar.
Ayesha was a Melbourne-based professional boxer before her marriage with Dhawan in 2012.
Incidentally, Ayesha has deleted her old Instagram profile with the display name ‘Ayesha Dhawan’ and created a new one with the name ‘Aesha Mukerji’.
Dhawan is currently in the UAE as he is preparing for the coming season of the Indian Premier League, which will be kickstarting on the 19th of this month. He is yet to comment about the divorce.
