T20 WC: Mohammed Shami Abused Post Ind-Pak Match

Indian bowler Mohammed Shami has been brutally abused after Pakistan won over India by 10 wickets in a Group 2 match of Super 12 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Stadium.

It is unfortunate to see how a section of netizens wrote abusive comments on social media. “Bloody Pakistani in Team India” and “A Muslim sided with Pakistan. How much money did you receive?” were a couple of comments.

A minor group of people supported Shami and asked people to not abuse him. ” Please don’t post unwanted comments. Anything can happen, it’s a game. Stop hating him”.

The sad turn of events occurred when the 31-year-old pacer found himself the target of online trolling once the game ended. And he was targeted in the areas of his Islamic faith and his ‘deliberate’ bad performance against fellow Muslims on the Pakistan side.

The trolls also asked Shami how much he sold himself in favour of Pakistan. Shami, so far, has not reacted to abusers. Shami had an off day as he went wicketless and gave away 43 runs in 3.5 overs.
