Universe Boss Gayle Bids Goodbye To Cricket

West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle has finally retired and he played his last T20 match against Australia in Abu Dhabi. Gayle debuted in international cricket in the year 1999 against India and he represented the West Indies side for 22 years.

But Gayle shot to fame with T20 cricket. He is a legend in this shorter format of the game and his stats speak for himself and that’s why he is called the ‘UNIVERSE BOSS.’

In T20 cricket Gayle played 445 innings and scored 14,321 runs which include 22 centuries. His highest score was 175 against Pune Warriors in the IPL. Gayle holds the record of most T20 Hundreds and 1043 sixes which are the best figures by any international cricketer at the moment.

Chris Gayle was part of the West Indies side in their road to victory at 2004 ICC Champions Trophy, T20 World Cup in 2012 and 2016.

However, Gayle disappointed in the current T20 World Cup as he did not bat to his potential in any of the matches. Nevertheless Gayle will be remembered for his smashing hits and most importantly his attitude that earned him a huge following.
