Sun Risers Hyderabad Starts Off IPL On A Losing Note

Different season, different team, but same form repeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad. It is always known to be a batting-fragile team and the fact has been proved yet again. In the opening game against Rajasthan Royals, SRH failed miserably and lost the match by 61 runs.

While chasing a total of mammoth 211 runs, SRH got a disastrous start as it lost three wickets for just nine runs. All top-order batters like Kane Williamson, Rahul Tripathi, and Nicholas Pooran have failed completely. In the backend of the innings, Aiden Markram (57*) and Washington Sundar (40) showed some sparks but it was too late already. As a result, SRH made only 149/7 in 20 overs. Chahal picked up three wickets (3/22) while Prasidh Krishna two wickets (2/16).

Meanwhile, RR has put on a sensational show while batting first. Openers Jos Buttler (35) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (20) made a partnership of 58 runs for the first wicket. Later, Sanju Samson (55) and Devdutt Padikkal (41) also continued the same form. In the backend of the innings, Caribbean power-hitter Shimron Hetmyer (32 off 13 balls) played a blinder and helped RR in scoring a huge total of 210/6 by the end of 20 overs. SRH bowlers have failed as a unit. Natarajan (2/39) and Umran Malik (2/43) have bagged two wickets each.

Rajasthan Royals plays its second game against Mumbai Indians on April 2. Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Lucknow Super Giants on April 4.
