IPL 2022: SRH Virtually Out Of Playoff Race

After the disastrous 2021 season, Sunrisers Hyderabad has put on yet another disappointing performance in the 2022 edition of the IPL too. After losing against Kolkata Knight Riders last night, SRH has been almost knocked out of the playoff race.

If SRH won against KKR, it would have improved its chances of qualifying for playoffs. But a defeat by 54 runs made its playoffs chances very bleak. In order to qualify for the playoffs, SRH now needs to win its remaining two games with a big margin and also hope that other results come in their favor.

On the other side, KKR has improved its chances of qualifying for the playoffs significantly by beating SRH. Their chances have gone up to 19% after the win against Sunrisers.

It has been a roller-coaster ride for SRH this season. After losing the first two games, it went on to win five games on a trot. Everyone considered it to be a champion team and a dark horse in the title race.

All of a sudden, it went off the track and lost five games on a trot. The poor form of Kane Williamson, Lack of team effort on the batting front, Lack of changes in the batting order, and the injury concerns resulted in SRH’s dramatic downfall.

Meanwhile, fans have already lost hopes and are expecting the team to make significant changes in next year’s auction and make a strong comeback in 2023.
