Viral: Indian team cheering for Smriti Mandhana

It has been a historic day for Indian women’s cricket. The first-ever auction of the women’s IPL is currently underway in Mumbai. A lot of anticipation was built around this auction for the last few days. Everyone was looking forward to the bidding war between teams for star players.

As expected, there was an intense bidding war between teams right from the first player of the auction. It was Indian star batter Smriti Mandhana who went under the hammer first in the auction. She earned her first bid from Mumbai Indians. Then, Royal Challengers Bangalore came into the picture. There was an intense bidding war between both these teams. Mandhana came with a base price of Rs. 50 lakhs.

Meanwhile, broadcaster Jio Cinema shared a video clip where Indian women cricketers are cheering for Smriti while her auction is going on. We can hear them saying ‘Uthao…Badhao…(Raise… Increase).’ This heartwarming video is now trending all over the internet.

The Indian women’s cricket team is currently in South Africa, taking part in the Women’s T20 World Cup.
