This 23-year-old Kiwi cricketer rocked the evening, scoring 123 runs off 96 balls. And guess what? He’s now trending on Indian social media, not only because of his amazing century but also because of his Indian roots and intriguing name.
Rachin’s father, Ravi Krishnamurthy, used to play cricket in Bengaluru before he moved to New Zealand. He’s a huge fan of Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar, so he gave his son the unique name Rachin as a tribute to both of these cricket legends.
Rachin only made his Test debut against India earlier this year, and now he’s making waves in his first-ever World Cup, which is being held in India. Overall, this emerging talent seems to become a promising future in New Zealand cricket.
