Cricket To Make Comeback After 128 Years At Olympics LA 2028

In one of those exciting news the cricket fans could hear, Cricket is likely to be included in the Olympic Games 2028 that are going to be held in LA.

Cricket is all set to make a return to the Summer Olympics nearly after 128 years, the decision is pending with the International Olympic Committee. The decision will be revealed on Friday.

Cricket is one of the five top recommended sports to be potentially included along with other sports like flag football, lacrosse, Squash, Baseball, and softball recommended by the Los Angeles Olympics organizers.

Cricket has a significant following across the world with more countries sending their teams into the World Cup each time. Also, the Women’s cricket at the 2022 Commonwealth Games seems to have been one of the reasons for the comeback proposal at the Olympics.

The International Cricket Council responded to Cricket’s return to the Olympics and tweeted,’ A massive step for cricket and its bid for inclusion at the 2028 Olympic Games.’

Cricket was last played at the Olympics in 1900 where England defeated France in a one-off match in Paris to win the Gold medal.
