The second season of the Indian Women’s Premier League drew to a close tonight and it ended with Royal Challengers women beating Delhi Capitals to lift the trophy for the first time.
After being put into bat with a target of 114, RCB managed to secure an 8-wicket win in the last over, much to the delight of crores of fans the franchise garnered.
This is the first ever trophy in the history of the franchise as the men’s side was also unable to get their hands on silverware in their 15-year run in the IPL. The women’s side has made their fans proud today by winning their maiden WPL trophy.
Fans are hoping that this positive reverberation instilled by the women’s side will rub into the men’s side and they too will win their first-ever IPL title which has been due for many years now.
