The IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians is usually referred to as the El Classico, signifying the gravity of the game and the sheer star power of the two sides. In what could be the final El Classico with Dhoni and Rohit Sharma involved with Chennai and Mumbai respectively, the former had the last laugh.
First, Dhoni came in and created madness with his blistering innings where he scored three sixes back to back, eventually hitting 20 runs from 4 deliveries. This smashing knock from Dhoni pushed CSK to 206 in the first innings and it in turn drew fans crazy.
But an equally, if not more resilient Rohit Sharma led Mumbai from the front for the most part and completed a fine century in the process. He looked in sublime touch through the course of the innings but wasn’t supported by his teammates towards the end of the innings.
In the end, CSK won the game by 20 runs as Dhoni’s mass 20 runs proved more effective than a classy 100 by Rohit.
