The mega auction pertaining to IPL 2025 is underway now and here is a look at the series of events that followed the costliest transaction in history after Pant got sold to Lucknow for Rs 27 crores.
In an interesting development, two capped players went unsold in the auction and they are David Warner and Devdutt Padikkal. They are the only two players who went unsold in the auction thus far.
While Warner is an all-time great of the sport and arguably one of the very best players in IPL, he was shockingly ignored by every team. This could be in relation to his poor run of form in recent years with the Delhi Capitals.
As for Padikkal, his career has been on a downward spiral after the blockbuster maiden season with RCB. His stint with Lucknow ended as a disaster and he is left with no IPL contract now.
