13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been making waves in the cricket world, capturing the attention of fans and experts alike. Recently bought by Rajasthan in the IPL auction for a significant price, Vaibhav became the youngest player ever sold at that level. This young talent from Bihar is now showcasing his skills at the Under-19 Asia Cup, where his performances have been nothing short of spectacular.
In the semi-final against Sri Lanka, Vaibhav played a pivotal role in leading India to victory, scoring an impressive 67 runs off just 36 balls. His innings included 6 fours and 5 sixes, with a remarkable 31 runs scored in a single over. Although he had a disappointing outing in a match against Pakistan, where he was dismissed for single digits, Vaibhav bounced back strongly. In an earlier match against UAE, he remained unbeaten with 76 runs off 46 balls, including 6 sixes and 4 fours.
In the match against Sri Lanka, Indian bowlers Pranay Singh and Rishi Dev delivered strong performances, taking crucial wickets and keeping Sri Lanka to a modest total. The Indian openers then took charge, with Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s explosive batting leading the charge. His aggressive play was instrumental in India’s successful chase of 174 runs. Ayush Mathre contributed 34 runs, and captain Mohammad Aman added 25 not out, guiding India to a well-deserved victory.
In the other semi-final, Bangladesh secured a 7-wicket win over Pakistan, setting the stage for a thrilling final between India and Bangladesh. The match will be held in Dubai this Sunday, and all eyes will be on Vaibhav to see if he can continue his impressive form and help India claim the title.
