Telugu Boy Is World Champion: CM Babu Is Proud

Young Chess grandmaster Gukesh Dommaraju has scripted history by becoming the youngest world champion in Chess. At just 18 years old, he is the youngest world champion in Chess and he has made the nation proud.

On this matter, CM Chandrababu tweeted a congratulatory message to the youngster.

“Hearty congratulations to our very own Telugu boy, Indian Grandmaster @DGukesh, on scripting history in Singapore by becoming the world’s youngest chess champion at just 18! The entire nation celebrates your incredible achievement.” Babu tweeted.

Though Gukesh is based in Chennai, he shares Telugu origins as his parents are from Andhra Pradesh. They are from the Godavari region of AP.

The 18-year-old Indian star has defeated the reigning champion, Ding Liren, to become the youngest-ever undisputed classical chess world champion. He defeated the reigning champion in the 14th game following a blunder from the latter.
