Viral: Kohli Sledges 19-Yr Konstas, To Get Penalised?

The boxing Day test match between India and Australia stood up to its reputation as it opened on a super fierce note. There were several eye catching moments in the opening days of the test match today and here’s a look into the most prominent moment of the lot.

Incidentally, young Australian batsmen, Sam Konstas was making his test debut today and he got into an altercation with Virat Kohli on the field. This happened shortly after Kohli dropped the youngster while he was on 20 runs.

In a viral video that is trending big on social media, we see Kohli bumping into the young Australian batsman, Konstas. The two of them, then get into a verbal confrontation in the middle of the pitch.

The reactions for this heated exchange in the boxing Day test match have been very mixed. There’s a lot of criticism on Kohli as well. People are of the opinion that Kohli must not have gone so physical with a 19 year old debutant, who is playing his first test match.

“Virat walked one whole pitch over to his right and instigated that confrontation. I have no doubt that the umpires and the referee will have a good look at that. Fielders should be nowhere near the batsman at that stage. Every fieldsman on the ground knows where the batsmen will congregate and get together” Ricky Pointing commented on this matter.

This matter will now be looked upon by the fourth empire, and there could be some sort of a penalty against Virat Kohli for this physical alteration. It is against the ICC’s Code of Conduct for a player to indicate physical confrontation. There is a chance that Kohli could be banned for 1 game due to this reason.
