Team India clinched the victory in the Champions Trophy and emerged as the real winners. Interestingly, there were speculations that captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would be announcing their retirement right after the Champions Trophy. However, there is no truth in the same and Rohit confirmed it.
Rohit Sharma has put an end to mounting speculation about his career.
“I am not gonna retire from this format. Just to make sure that the rumors are not spread. Moving forward. Thank you so much,” revealed Rohith Sharma.
Rohith made this revelation right after the press conference which took place after the match. Rohit is currently aiming for the World Cup that will take place in 2027. Rohit Sharma already announced his retirement from the T20 format and clarified that he would continue playing the current format.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli played exceptionally well in the trophy so far, except for the final match. Even Kohli wants to play and he also does not intend to mark his retirement.
