Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from all formats of cricket except Indian Premier League. The 43-year-old faces the questions about him quitting the IPL every year. Jusr after the season began this year, Dhoni faced the question and he answered. He vowed to play for the CSK even when on the wheelchair.
Chennai Super Kings will be playing their first game today against Mumbai at the Chinnaswami stadium in Chennai. The team reached Chennai and Dhoni opened up about the regular and routine retirement questions.
Dhoni answered that he is not thinking about quitting the franchise, and at the same time, the franchise is also not ready to bid goodbye to him.
“Even if I am injured and find myself in a wheelchair, the team will still convince me to play the game and one more season. I can play for as long as I want for CSK. That’s my franchise. Even if I’m in a wheelchair, they’ll drag me,” he said.
In the current season, if Dhoni scores 19 more runs, he will become the franchise’s highest run-scorer in the IPL.
