The stage is set for the resumption of the 2025 season of IPL from May 17 and the teams are preparing for the same at an aggravated level. Meanwhile, there is a new discussion happening about the kind of arrangements that are to be made for the fast resuming season.
In this context, a thoughtful new suggestion has been made for the remainder of the tournament which is going to be starting in a few days.
This suggestion came from none other than Sunil Gavaskar, who is a legend of the game, and he is also an active commentator in the ongoing season of IPL.
Gavaskar proposed that the reminder of the tournament must be carried in a very straightforward and non-celebratory manner.
“There must be no more DJ shows and cheer girls shows in the tournament for the rest of the season. Our country has lost a few out of our civilians in a terror attack and now, we are preparing to start the tournament again. So, we must avoid DJ shows and cheer girls for the rest of the season as a token of respect for lost people.” Gavaskar stated.
It should be noted that Gavaskar has a very solid point here. The season really is starting after the heinous terror attack in Pahalgam. But at the same time, this entertainment factor is a part of the league. So it has to be seen if this suggestion would be acknowledged by the governing body.
