The top three teams in the ongoing season of IPL have all coincidentally trembled at the same time. As interesting as it may sound, the top three positioned sides Gujarat, Bengaluru, and Punjab have all stuttered in their respective last games.
While Gujarat lost to Lucknow in a comprehensive manner, Bengaluru got humbled by Hyderabad. And last night, Punjab ended up losing to Delhi.
The clear pattern here is that all the top three teams have struggled to post victories in the immediate last games. Only Mumbai Indians who are at the fourth position on the table, I have successfully managed to defeat Dilli in their previous game and are comfortably ahead.
It needs to be said that this is the worst possible time for the top three teams to lose momentum as the group stage games are nearing completion. It is just about time for all the teams to get back to their winning ways and generate positive momentum, leading into the play-offs.
If Mumbai Indians showing ruthless form isn’t concerning enough, these three teams are all struggling at the same point in time. These are alarming bills for the other teams that have qualified and they will be hoping to shift things around rather quickly.
