Victory celebrations of IPL 2025 Champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru resulted in a devastating situation, as it is being reported that at least 6 people died and 25 are injured in the stampede at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
According to the media reports, six people, including a child, lost their lives in a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium. It was reported that more than 25 were severely injured, and the condition of few of them remains critical.
Thousands of fans gathered outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium, hoping to see the RCB players’ victory march with the IPL trophy. The heavy gathering resulted in a stampede, causing three casualties. It was stated that the injured have been shifted to Bowring Hospital.
Meanwhile, neither the government of Karnataka nor the state police department have confirmed the news officially. However, it would be regrettable and devastating news if it turned out to be true.
Just a few months back, we saw a lady being killed and her son getting critically injured in a stampede at a theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere of Big movie. After witnessing these incidents, people have opined that it is better if the government doesn’t give permission to hold any huge public gatherings if it is not possible to provide enough security.
Note: This is a developing story. The death toll from the stampede may rise as more information becomes available.
