Those 4 Players Lost The Game For India?

India had the golden opportunity of going 2-1 up in the ongoing England test series, but they blew up the opportunity by collapsing in the third test match. India had to sustain a gutting defeat by 22 runs in the third test match that went down the wire.

It really needs to be argued that there are these four players in the Indian batting lineup that virtually ended up costing the game for India.

At the top of the order, it was Yashaswi Jaiswal and Karun Nair, who needed to put their hand up and consolidate their innings. But they put up pathetic performances as Jaiswal got out for zero while Karun Nair got out on 14.

Captain Shubman Gill also failed miserably as he got out for just 6 runs when the team needed him the most. Then came Nitish Kumar Reddy, who came out to bat at a crucial point in time, but got out for just 13 runs, right on the brink of lunch on day 4.

It is a fact that Washington Sundar could have also batter well, but he can perhaps be pardoned for his impressive bowling performance.

Had one of these four players played responsibly and held their innings together, India could have had a monumental victory in the third test match. But it simply wasn’t to be as all these main batsmen got out rather horridly, which costed the team in the end.
