The government of India has quickly regulated the gaming act bill and has imposed a ban on the applications and platforms that involve real money. Any sort of fantasy, gaming or gambling activities involving money have been dismantled effective immediately, and all the leading applications have stopped money operations correspondingly.
In tune with this, the principal sponsor for the Indian jersey, Dream 11, which was once one of the most famous gaming application has been sideline. They will no longer operate as the jersey sponsor for India.
The latest news is that not just the Indian team, but also the Indian players will be losing significant revenue as these gaming application applications are backing out.
Incidentally, top stars associated with Indian cricket, including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Jaspreet Bumrah, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and several others are contracted with these gaming applications. Apart from that, former players like Gautham Gambhir and Sourav Ganguly are also contracted by certain gaming apps.
Reportedly Kohli himself used to make in the range of ₹10 to 12 crore through the deals with these gaming apps. Other top stars like Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni would have also been making significant amount of money through the same.
Then we have other young players who are also contracted by related platforms that have been operating in the gaming zone.
With all these platforms and application applications, seizing operations, immediately, they will no longer be employing these superstars from Indian cricket. Subsequently, these players would be losing out on several monetary gains.
It is estimated that the Indian players who had been contracted by these gaming applications could be losing in ten range of Rs 200 crores due to the newly imposed ban.
