Back in June this year, Royal Challengers, Bengaluru franchise faced extreme criticism for holding a victory parade without proper planning, which led to a stampede at the RCB Stadium. As many as 11, people lost their lives in this stampede and RCB got brutally mauled for the same.
Finally, after several months, RCB has announced the much awaited RCB Cares program and here is what they have to say about the same.
We lost eleven members of the RCB family. They were part of us. Part of what makes our city, our community & our team unique. Their absence will echo in the memories of each one of us.
RCB then announced a financial compensation to the victims as they stated “No amount of support can ever fill the space they’ve left behind. But as a first step, and with the deepest respect, RCB has extended ₹25 lakh each to their families. Not just as financial aid, but as a promise of compassion, unity, and ongoing care.”
adding further about this RCB Cares project, the franchise revealed that this is a long-term commitment for a meaningful future “This is also the beginning of 𝗥𝗖𝗕 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦: a long-term commitment for meaningful action that begins by honouring their memory. Every step forward will reflect what the fans feel, expect, and deserve.”
Finally, RCB has donated a sum of ₹25,00,000 each to the family members of the 11 victims who had died at the RCB stadium during the parade.
