Academic, sports and Cinema must always be kept away from religious angles, but sadly, we always see an interlude between the same in the country. A similar development has happened in connection with Indian Cricket now and let us have a look into the same.
Incidentally, a right wing extreme social media page came up with a highly controversial post last night in the context of RCB’s win in the WPL finale.
This social media page posted “Jeasus didn’t Help Jemimah Rodrigues. But Tirupati Balaji gave his Blessings to Smriti Mandana! Congratulations #RCB for winning #WPL2026”.
This comment is in connection with the WPL final that was won by RCB against Delhi Capitals last night. The point to be noted here is that this social media user is targeting Christian player Jami Rodriguez, who captains Delhi Capitals while attributing RCB’s Smriti Mandana’s win to Lord Balaji.
The implication here is that Hindu God is stronger and more compassionate than the Christian God. Of all the implications, this was attributed to the Indian women cricket sector and this isn’t a good approach.
Posting such religious-split content on social media is never a good idea when it comes to social harmony and it’s time for people to be more considerate on the same.
