Team India has been in very good form in the ongoing T20 World Cup and this was again on display in the game against England last night. India was able to beat England and qualify for the finals for the second time in a row.
However, there are major apprehensions and concerns regarding the team this time around, and there are external factors as well.
This is primary lead due to the fact that India will be playing at the famous Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which has some bad memories for Indian cricket team fans.
The last time, India played an ICC tournament game at this Modi Stadium, it was a complete shambolic experience as India lost to Australia in the 50 over World Cup finale. This turned out to be a very pathetic result that still gives nightmares to Indian cricket fans.
On top of that, the pitch conditions at the Ahmedabad Stadium are largely unpredictable, which is becoming another cause of concern for Indian fans. Along with that, India does not have a great track record against New Zealand in the T20 World Cup, and this is adding to the worries.
But at the end of the day, it all comes down to the performance on the day that it matters rather than historic numbers. So fans will be hoping that Indian team will perform to the best of their capabilities and put up a comprehensive performance against New Zealand in the finals.
