Chennai Super Kings fans wait every year for the arrival of MS Dhoni at the famous Chennai Stadium. Similar expectations were placed on the ongoing season, but they were delivered a bad shock as Dhoni is still recovering from injury and he is going to miss the first two weeks of the IPL 2026.
While the latest development are suggesting that Chennai Super Kings fans are delivered, another big shocker in the form of the unavailability of another star player.
The latest news regarding this injury is that Dewald Brewis who is one of the brightest young players in world cricket and was phenomenal with the bat for CSK in the second half of IPL is going to miss a few games.
The latest updates are suggesting that Brewis has suffered a side strain and is going to be unavailable for the first 2 to 3 games of the season.
The bad part for Chennai Super Kings fans here is that this extremely talented South African batsmen has been in brilliant form and he was also brilliant for CSK in the second half of 2025.
Great things were expected from this extremely explosive batsman in the 2026 season but this will have to be delayed as he’s temporarily unavailable due to injury.
On one hand, Dhoni is going to miss six games this season due to a calf injury, and now another significant exclusion will have to be made in the form of Brewis which is not a good sign.
