Royal Challengers Bengaluru created a significant piece of IPL history by winning the trophy back-to-back consecutive season. RCB is next only to Mumbai and Chennai, which had earlier won the IPL trophy back-to-back.
The remarkable victory for RCB, warranted a series of promotions in the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana but many of them were over the top.
Particularly the celebrations in Kurnool, where beyond comprehension as many people gathered on the roads and damaged public property like barricades and government buses. It was an absolute nuisance that was created on the roads.
Now, it is perhaps the responsibility of the Andhra Pradesh government to take a pretty prawn dip in this direction. Several of the individuals who are involved with this public nuisance incident were already arrested.
The crucial thing for Andhra Pradesh, Police now is to set a strong precedent and indicate that any such activities in the future will lead to severe consequences.
Consciously and viciously destroying public property in the name of IPL winning celebrations is complete antisocial behaviour and it needs to be reprimanded in the harshest way possible.
