Final World Cup For Kohli, But What About Rohit Sharma?

India is actively preparing for the 2027 cricket World Cup, which is going to be the conventional 50 over format. This is being publicised as the farewell World Cup season for legendary players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Interestingly, Virat Kohli spoke on this matter today, as he categorically confirmed that the 2027 World Cup would be his final participation in an ICC tournament.

“2027 World Cup is going to be the last World Cup I’m going to play for India. That’s my motivation, the goal is absolutely to win the cup, whatever it takes, I’m ready” Kohli said earlier.

It is evident that Kohli is preparing for this World Cup, which could be his farewell tournament in the ICC events. So there is a lot of anticipation associated with the same, not just amongst Indian cricket fans, but also global cricket fans in general.

However, there is a lot of scepticism about the participation of Rohit Sharma in the upcoming World Cup as things are not looking favourable at this point in time. Just recently, there were reports that the Indian management is considering the idea of removing Rohit from the World Cup set up.

There are several comments that team India management is referring to give youngsters a bigger opportunity in the World Cup in the place of Rohit Sharma. So his participation in the World Cup has become a concern already.

It is principally confirmed that Virat Kohli would be taking part in the World Cup, but the actual availability of Rohit Sharma is going to be in question now. In terms of team composition, it needs to be said that the presence of Kohli and Rohit Sharma is crucial for the team as they provide a lot of experience with their seniority.
