#IndvEng: Team India defeated by 227 runs

Just the way when fans keep huge expectations on team India, it fails miserably. Team India has lost the first Test match against England by a massive 227 runs in Chennai. Once again the Indian top order failed to save a match despite the depth and experience they were carrying.

Chasing the massive target of 420 runs on day five, India made a bad start. Pujara departed early. Shubhman Gill scored a half century but immediately he was cleaned up by James Anderson with a beauty of delivery. Rahane too made it to the pavilion in the same over and that’s how team India struggled in the first session of day five.

Skipper Virat Kohli and Ashwin tried to resist England’s storm but in vain. Kohli scored his 24th half century and was dismissed by Ben Stokes with a superb delivery. The lower order did not take match time to concede the match to the visitors.

In the end India was bowled for 192 runs and lost the first Test. England’s captain Joe Root was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’ for his double ton in the first innings.

Team India has three more matches to bounce back.
