India’s Day 7 At Olympics: India Gains The Momentum!

On Friday, the Indian fans are extremely happy that boxer Borgohain Lovlina is going to get a medal for the country. She fought very hard in her quarter-final and entered the semi-finals. Irrespective of the result of the semi-final, she will get us a medal. PV Sindhu also stormed into the semi-finals which is happy news. The following is the round-up at the Olympics on day 7.

Golf Men’s Round 2 play was interrupted.

The day one of Equestrian Dressage individual sport took place and India’s Mirza F Seigneur secured 7th rank with 28 points.

The qualifications for the 25m Rapid Pistol event for women also took place on day 7. India’s Bhaker Manu secured 15th rank. Sarnobat Rahi secured 32nd rank.

In Archery, Deepika Kumari has disappointed everyone and she failed to get into the next league. She won with 6-5 to Perova Ksenia in eliminations but lost in the quarterfinal to AN San.

In Round 1 Heat 2 Athletics, India’s Sable Avinash Mukund was not qualified.

In Women’s Light (57-60kg), Preliminaries, India’s Baatth Simranjit Kaur was defeated by Thailand’s Seesondee Sudaporn.

In Men’s 400m Hurdles Round 1, India’s Madari Palliyalil Jabir was not qualified.

In Sailing 49er Men Race 07, India’s Kelapanda and Thakkar secured 17 points.

In Women’s Welter (64-69kg), Borgohain Lovlina won the quarter-finals and reached the semi-finals. She defeated Chen Nien-Chin.

Indian Women’s Hockey team won against Ireland and registered their first victory in the tournament.

In Women’s 100m Round 1, India’s Chand finished at 11.54 seconds and was not qualified.

In Badminton, PV Sindhu defeated Japan’s Yamaguchi Akane and entered the semi-finals.

India’s Men’s Hockey team played their final league match and defeated Japan by 5-3.
