Women Throw Their Babies Over Wire Fences To Escape Taliban

Among many harrowing scenes from Afghanistan, one more heart-breaking situation is that men and women are crying for help from the troops, standing behind a barbed wire. It is a known fact that there is a barbed wire placed separating the US and UK troops from the thousands of desperate Afghans trying to flee the country at the Kabul airport.

A British official told reporters that his troops cry after seeing women throwing their children over the barbed wires, asking the soldiers to catch them on the other side. A Parachute Regiment officer recalled the situation, saying: “The mothers were desperate, they were getting beaten by the Taliban. They shouted ‘save my baby’ and threw the babies at us, some of the babies fell on the barbed wire. It was awful what happened. By the end of the night, there wasn’t one man among us who was not crying”.

Ever since the Taliban took over the country, Kabul airport has become a picture of utter desperation with thousand of people looking for ways to escape. We saw how people rushed towards the Kabul airport even as US troops opened fire to control the exodus.

And a couple of new videos from the Kabul airport have been released showing women crying for help from outside the gates and barbed wires, pleading the troops to let them in. In the video, the women are heard saying, “Help us, the Taliban are coming.”
