#DelhiRains: Waterfall From Flyover

A few years back we have seen water getting logged on flyovers in Hyderabad and the visuals went viral. Now we’re witnessing waterfall from flyovers and this happened in the national capital on Wednesday. In the last 24 hours, Delhi has recorded 112.1 mm rainfall which is said to be the highest single-day in September in 19 years, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD).

At Mahipalpur which is a busy urban village, water was overflowing from a flyover and these visuals have taken the internet by storm. The waterfall on the vehicles below the flyover is a visual to save it for future purpose. Due to the heavy rainfall, life has come to a standstill in the national capital.

Coincidentally Delhi has reopened schools today and as a result more vehicles have hit the roads. With incessant rainfall, the traffic piled up on the roads. Traffic movement on Minto Bridge has been closed due to water logging. Roundabout Samrat Hotel, Mother Teresa Crescent Marg, Mayapuri chowk and a few more junctions were affected by water logging.

Most of the Indian cities have poor infrastructure that can tackle this water logging and unfortunately the municipal bodies are not paying much attention to developing concrete solutions.
