Drastic Drop In Antibodies After 4 Months Of Vaccination:

The latest study has been conducted on 614 fully vaccinated health workers in India and found a “significant” drop in their COVID-fighting antibodies within four months of the first shot. These new findings help the government to take a decision on providing booster doses which have already been initiated in some foreign countries.

The experts said that losing antibodies does not mean the vaccinated people lose their power to counter the disease, Because the body’s memory cells may still kick in to offer substantial protection. The Regional Medical Research Centre, based in Bhubaneswar said that it needs 6 months to learn if the booster is actually needed or not.

Covid To Become Endemic In The Next 6 Months?

Sujeet Singh, the Director of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said in the next six months, we will approach endemic status.

This means the infection might become more manageable and easier on the health infrastructure. Also, if the mortality and morbidity are under control, then India can manage the infections. Nevertheless, they stressed that vaccination is the biggest protection and still the strong weapon against the coronavirus
